Works as a programmer/analyst for business intelligence. Uses knowledge of software design principles, methods, approaches, and procedures to design, develop, optimize, and integrate system components. Uses knowledge of relevant government requirements and database management principles such as data structures, data modeling, and data warehousing to design, debug, and maintain software applications that meet technical and functional requirements. Designs and develops efficient and effective applications through the use of reusable components. Ensures that applications meet requirements and are consistent with current and planned infrastructure and data environments. Identifies the most appropriate principles, practices and methods to apply in engagements. Interprets regulations and applies new methods to difficult problems and resolves most conflicts that arise.
Develops and maintains solutions for enterprise performance management and decision support, including: data mining, data query, reporting, analysis, dashboards, pointing, etc Develops metadata models, develops and adjusts queries, designs and develops reports, creates data delivery and presentation solutions. Performs application administration and database administration for data repositories, including data warehouse, data mart, data cubes, materialized views, etc. change control; project and task coordination and user support. Performs troubleshooting, problem solving and solution analysis tasks. Researches related products, methods and techniques, as assigned. Performs programmer/analyst tasks to ensure the reliability, availability and maintainability of the decision support system. Reports progress as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or a related field appropriate to the work of the position AND six years of progressively technical experience working with Business Intelligence or Business Intelligence solutions as a technical lead demonstrating knowledge of software design principles, methods, approaches,
and procedures for designing, developing, optimizing and integrating system components, WHERE an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skills equivalent to those acquired in the above, WHERE appropriate experience which demonstrates that the candidate has acquired knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to those acquired above.
Knowledge of relevant government requirements and database management principles such as data structures, data modeling and data warehousing to design, debug and maintain software applications that meet technical and functional requirements. Competence to design and develop efficient and effective applications through the use of reusable components, and ensure that applications conform to requirements and are consistent with current and planned infrastructure and data environments. Strong understanding of relational database management systems, data warehousing systems, and states of data presented in various data repositories. Solid working knowledge of SQL, UNIX and Windows. Experience with MS Power BI, Oracle RDBMS, Oracle Warehouse Builder, Oracle Data Integrator and Oracle PL/SQL is preferred. Knowledge and experience of designing, developing, testing and deploying Cognos reports and dashboards, metadata models using Framework Manager in the Cognos Analytics 10/11 environment, including configuration experience and administration, are required. Working knowledge and experience applying BI solutions to business activities including but not limited to: finance, procurement, retail, human resources, construction is preferred.

The incumbent must be eligible for a National Access Agency Background Check and Investigation (ANACI/Level 3) to satisfy the Tier II designation in Computer Science.
