Sustainable Development Commission

The role of the Sustainability Commissioner will be to make advisory recommendations to City Council on how to promote progress towards sustainability in the Greener Glendale plan, climate action plans, on environmental issues and recommend priorities to promote regional leadership in sustainability. The Commission will work with municipal departments on the development, implementation and evaluation of sustainability programs.

Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission

Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commissioners are responsible for the overall program of parks, playgrounds and recreational activities. The Commission serves as an advisory body to City Council and the Department of Community Services and Parks, recommending plans of action that ensure the continuation of Glendale’s high-calibre parks and recreational programs.

Management Services provides administrative support to the Commission on Sustainable Development. The Sustainability Officer can provide additional information regarding Commission issues.

The Department of Community Services and Parks provides administrative services to the Commission. The Director of Community Services and Parks can provide further information regarding Board issues.
