Cape Elizabeth Community Services launches new programs

CAPE ELISABETH — Cape Elizabeth Community Services announced new program offerings.

The center is offering new programs for youth and adults this summer. Upcoming programs for youngsters include Marvels of Science for ages 3-5, with the eight classes covering earthworks, life in space, movie effects, toy science, sonic sounds, weather , life in the sea and mixing. Classes started on April 7 and will end on June 2. Classes take place from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. There is a $127 fee.

Upcoming Adult Education classes include Advanced and Intermediate Beginner Pickleball which takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Classes for advanced beginners are from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and intermediate classes from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. There is a $128 fee and lessons are held at the Fort Williams pickleball courts. Classes take place from May 3 to June 23.

Another upcoming adult education course is the Adult Fitness-CSI Workout. The class combines cardio and strength intervals. Classes begin May 3 and end June 9 from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. There is a $105 fee.

The center offers two summer camps for young people, the MaineIAX Summer Lax Camp for students in grades 3-8 and the Mad Science Brixology and Engineering Camp. The center is currently looking for camp counselors aged 16 and over.
