Job Overview

Support the Director of Programs in the day-to-day management of ETTA programs, including the Community Day Program, Community Living Services, Job Training, Employment Support, etc. Responsibilities include supervising and motivating 6+ program managers, including the development and implementation of administrative and program policies. Monitors and ensures that ETTA’s people-centered quality service standards remain the highest priority. The Assistant Director of Community Services will regularly assess management performance and provide leadership, direction and training as needed.

Roles, responsibilities and activities

The Deputy Director of Community Services will provide operational and programmatic support to the organization. ETTA has an uncompromising commitment to quality and integrity. Management must perform its duties and responsibilities in accordance with our high quality standards. Here is a list of essential roles, responsibilities and activities that the Assistant Director of Community Services can expect to perform in this position:

  • In partnership with the Director of Programs, the Deputy Director of Community Services is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, implementing, promoting and monitoring all services funded by the ETTA Regional Center .
  • Provide direction to enable management to use time and resources effectively to help the agency establish and maintain high quality standards for staff service and performance.
  • Liaise with regional center to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Develop and coordinate case management practice and protocol, including conducting regular workload audits.
  • Ensure managers collect and report client/program data and prepare accurate and meaningful individual service plans at least twice a year.
  • Support Program Managers to ensure ISP goals and objectives are prioritized and achieved and/or revised as needed.
  • Lead quality assurance meetings and trainings.
  • Responsible for conducting annual performance reviews of Program Managers.
  • Act as an advocate for ETTA clients, families, direct support professionals and program managers.

  • Able to respond effectively to the most sensitive questions.
  • Able to present themselves effectively, persuasively and professionally when discussing controversial or complex topics.
  • Knowledge and ability to support observant Jews within their community according to client’s level of practice.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills both oral and written.

Education and experience requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, related to social services and/or significant experience with people with intellectual disabilities.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in the field of development and intellectual disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of person-centered thinking and planning practices.
  • An understanding of the self-determination program.
  • Experience with Regional Center funding requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with home and community services Federal mandate.
  • Working knowledge of not-for-profit organizations.
  • Well organized, self-motivated and able to multi-task.
  • Problem solving skills, critical thinking and evaluation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


  • Pass a background check via Live Scan.
  • Fully vaccinated (including booster if qualified)
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Be able to work legally in the United States.
  • Being able to pass a tuberculosis and drug screening with a “negative” report.
